
LOGIA’s “Transport manager” module controls the flow of pallets, crates and packages on automated conveying systems and integrates this into the rest of the warehouse.
The control unit is split into two levels:
Equipment control is responsible for the physical control of the plant by means of mechanical components, motors, sensors, etc., and also controls personal safety and emergency stop functions on the plant.
Flow control takes place via scanning of the storage medium’s barcode/RFID tag at the plant’s communication points. These points can be junctions where different directions can be taken or with the destination of the storage medium. On the basis of information concerning order/item number, LOGIA provides the equipment control unit with information about the storage medium’s next logical destination.
Smooth flow of items and full flexibility
The physical system is described in terms of data in LOGIA with all communication points, positions and sections, and the flow control is hereinafter set up by means of standard components and functions in the transport manager. This design ensures great flexibility and straightforward adjustment when making changes to the system.
