Dispatch

Forecast-based space allocation in the dispatch area ensures optimum loading and highly efficient use of the space in dispatch.
On the basis of the transferred orders’ loading times and number of packages, LOGIA allocates lanes in the dispatch area. The pallets are ranked in terms of customer or in relation to the order in which they are to be unloaded en route. This dynamic space allocation means that the customer’s pallets can be allocated the required space and that lanes can be reused throughout the day.
An on-screen overview shows space requirements, floor space ratio and reservations, and warns if space requirements cannot be met within the registered loading times. This means that the orders can be reorganised or loading times amended early in the planning process.
When order pallets are packed and ready for dispatch, a move job is automatically generated to the allocated lane in the dispatch. When the employee scans the pallet’s barcode, the move job is displayed, which is acknowledged when the pallet is placed in the appropriate lane.
Freight forecasts
There is an option of employing automatic interval-based forwarding of freight forecasts to haulage carriers that show the number of completed pallets and number of expected pallets in the order.
The haulage carrier can use this information when planning the number of trucks and loading times, in addition to which it may be possible to make a request to pick up the pallets in advance of the planned loading time.
Loading management
LOGIA loading management optimises the handling of shipments from the dispatch area to haulage trucks and ensures that this is carried out as efficiently and flawlessly as possible.
The driver is given a PDA, on which the route’s pallets and locations are displayed. Customer labels are scanned as and when the pallets are loaded – thereby preventing the loading of the wrong pallets and ensuring that no pallets are forgotten. When loading is complete, the data is used to provide an automatic printout of freight documents so that manual entry is avoided and the chance of mistakes is reduced to a minimum.
